The neglected basic control unit

I've been thinking for a long time about what should be the first article on this blog. Should it be an inspirational story? Can we dive straight into the benefits of meditation? Or should I immediately raise a finger and point out the overthinking, then offer a solution? I almost did, I'm not lying.

But then it dawned on me something that I had somehow overlooked until now, even though this entire blog should be named after that very foundation. What am I talking about? Our brains.

The most powerful computer in our head.

Our brains are with us all the time, involved in everything we do, influencing our actions, and we pay it (with the exception of a few) almost no attention, let alone care.

We live hectic lives in hectic times. Daily we are overwhelmed with work, tasks, responsibilities. We have learned to train our bodies, whether it is in the gym or running in the winter rain, but do we give the same care to our mental health? And specifically, do we take care of our brains?

We have little time for ourselves, for relaxation and true rest, and as a result, in many cases, our mental wellbeing suffers. Fatigue and concentration problems are increasingly common. And our reactions? Remorse and intensification of work - a great vicious circle.

But it's not about working more, harder, more intensely. The magic is that it's simpler, which is why so many people ignore or disregard this fact. It's about working smart.

That's why I want to help you know, understand and practice the principles of how to work smarter based on studies, books and articles about how the brain works. I want to give you comprehensive instructions, plans and steps so you don't have to work any harder. So that we don't just take our bodies to the gym, but also our brains.

What I want to give you

First, we will improve the fitness of the brain so that we can then learn how to use it better. This will make you more productive, more focused and increase your creativity and memory. Sounds like a fine vision, doesn't it?

That's why I've changed the schedule, and for the next few Thursdays we're going to delve into the ins and outs of our brains and learn together:

    Improve brain fitness

    Increase productivity

    Boost creativity

    Boost memory

We'll learn how to reprogram our brains to load the right programs in them. Erase autopilot, bad patterns and give our brains a chance to finally express themselves and show their potential.

Action or theory alone is not enough

Before I say goodbye, I'll give you a little assignment (I like to end most articles with an action, because just sitting on your ass and reading won't bring about change). Imagine that we're already at the end of this topic, you've already improved your fitness, productivity and brain creativity - how does that benefit you? What does it enable you to do? What has improved in your life? It should help you steer your behaviour in the right direction and also show you where you are actually heading.

I look forward to seeing you again next week on this topic, where we'll look at what steps to take to improve your brain fitness.
